Speedster Continued The weekend was pretty much spent working on the boat. I polished and buffed the outside around the engine bay area. I didn’t want to get rubbing compound all over the place with the motors in. Here are some shots of the buffed out body panels.
Contact Author Unthreaded Faucets Many indoor faucets do not have a thread on the inside or the outside. They also come in a wide variety of shapes and designs. This is great for fitting in with your design style, but can be a challenge when it comes to using fixtures and fittings. For example, there are many reasons why you may want to securely fit a hose to an indoor tap. In my particular case I use the hose most often to fill my aquariums, but it can also be useful for plants and hydroponics, to attach small appliances, for cleaning, and many other applications.
It was surprisingly difficult to get a tight and flexible attachment that would work on an indoor tap, but this is what I learned: A Lever Adapter One type of adapter uses a lever to press the tap down onto a rubber ring, to create a tight seal. The best example of this is probably the Koala faucet adapter. The main limitation of this design is that it only works for a faucet with the 90 degree angle at the end, and within a small range of diameters.
For a faucet that is exactly the right design the seal is reasonable good, but can still leak under higher pressures.
SBT Flush Kits
For example, if you hook up your new garden hose and let it sit in the sun, within a few days you will likely find BPA bisphenol A and phthalates in the water. These toxins can have an impact on brain function, and development in children and have been associated with obesity in teens. Hot plastic or vinyl water hoses are also a great breeding ground for algae and bacteria.
Unfortunately, most people do not understand the harmful effects of saltwater on their motors and fiberglass bodies. Flushing your engine after every ride is a good way to prevent clogging the water passages inside your engine. Salt water is especially corrosive, but fresh water is still filled with unfiltered debris that can affect the water flow in your engine. SBT carries flush kits that you simply attach to your garden hose to get the unwanted water out.
Following are the steps you should take to flush out your personal watercraft: After removing your PWC from the water, wash off its exterior thoroughly with fresh water. Make certain that no salt water remains on the PWC. Spend extra time washing out the jet nozzle, reverse gate, impeller, and ride plate.

Dehumidifier – Drain Hose Issues A dehumidifier can be connected to a garden water hose so that it will automatically empty into a floor drain as water is collected. Check the Owner’s Manual for instructions. Download a copy of the Owner’s Manual. Not Draining with Hose Attached If water is not draining through the hose, check the following: Make sure you have a good connection where the garden hose attaches and that there is a rubber washer properly installed in the end of the garden hose.
If the connection is loose, gently tighten the connection with pliers. If the hose is pushed into a drain like a standpipe , make sure it is not pushed in too far. Pull out the hose until the hose outlet is above the water line. Cut off any excess hose so that it is moving in a straight line to the drain. Avoid using an old or damaged garden hose. Clean dehumidifier drain and hose: If water in bucket, empty bucket.
Clean dehumidifier drain with a baby bottle brush or pipe cleaner like used for kids crafts.

A very important aspect of winterization is battery maintenance. Reasons for keeping a constant charge — It keeps the battery from being depleted from non-use. Locate the battery in your Sea-Doo watercraft. Next take a look at the bolts that secure your battery cables to the battery and determine what tool must be used to remove the cables.
Be sure to remove the negative – black cable first and make sure it does not come in contact with the battery or any other grounding component such as any exposed hardware during the next steps. Disconnect the vent hose from battery. Install a piece of hose same type as vent hose with a cap or a small hose pincher onto the battery to prevent electrolyte spillage when removing the battery.
Remove any straps or brackets that may be securing the battery into the battery tray. Remove the battery and place it on a workbench or something comparable. Be sure to place it out of the reach of children. Plug in the charger to a wall socket and you are ready to stay charged! Additional instructions — If the battery terminals seem to have corrosion or rust of any sort, use a wire brush to remove before connecting to the charger.
The best way to maintain proper battery life is to keep a constant charge, so keep up on your battery maintenance to maintain that showroom like quality all year round.

Whats wrong with the toilet plunger? D rand, There’s many methods that everyone uses, just do a search on here and pick which one you like. Worked great, no tools involved after the initial install. Get up this am to see a lot of great suggestions. While splicing T fittings into the intake hose is a solution, wouldn’t it restrict water flow during normal operation?
As much as I like that Perco Flush, is it restrictive? The Fake-a-Lake is what I was talking about. How does it seal up against the boat bottom? That might be the way I’ll end up going. This is indeed a great community!
The Complete Guide to Garden Hose Fittings
Any time you take your Sea-Doo out into salt water, you’ll want to flush the engine out afterwards with fresh water to prevent the salt water from collecting and damaging the engine. This is especially important when you’re about to place your Sea-Doo in storage for the winter months. Unscrew your Sea-Doo’s drain plugs. Locate the Sea-Doo’s water injection port by consulting your owner’s manual. Depending on the model of your Sea-Doo, the port will likely be either in the rear back corner, inside the jet pump area or under the hood in the front of the vehicle.
Turn the water off to your garden hose.
Posted 07 November – I hooked a hose with a quick connect to the flush adapter and then had a funnel on the other end of the hose elevated to the level of the tower. Without the engine running I poured full strength antifreeze into the funnel. Old river water was draining out from under the boat, out of the grate. It was as if the antifreeze pour was pushing the old water out of the system.
The antifreeze is flowing by gravity and a capillary effect in a retrograde opposite direction fashion through the cooling system. I needed to test things. The first thing I did was take off the hose on the top of the exhaust pipe, the exhaust bleed hose. I saw antifreeze in here. I did a test, putting more antifreeze in the funnel and it comes directly out of this hose. This hose is normally a heated water outflow hose.
How to Connect a Hose to an Indoor Unthreaded Faucet
But obviously you’ve altered some part of the system, that is a problem particularly at high speed. I also run in the same MD water, and it is grassville!!! I installed a cooling water filter to keep the “spinach” from plugging all those nice little fittings and lines. It has to be cleaned frequently, but I don’t have to worry about my machine being plugged up.
Broken mounts can cause driveline and pipe problems if not caught early! Save money and time instead of using a dealer! The area above is always changing so check back often as links are added. Obviously, the water has to be expelled and the ski rode promptly after you get it running again. Here’s how I do it First, hook up a 12v cordless booster to the battery.
If you don’t have one, a battery charger will do. Next, remove the plugs and spray them with starting fluid or carb cleaner to expel the water off the plugs. Once the wires are on the grounding posts, put a rag over the head so when water is expelled from the cylinders, it doesn’t spray all over you and the surrounding area. Next, crank it over until a majority of the water is out before then placing your thumb over each plug hole to draw more water out.
After that, squirt some premix gas into each cylinder I use a contact solution bottle to hold it and make it easy to squirt.

How to Connect Up a Hose This guide shows you what fittings you need to connect up your garden hose to an indoor or garden tap and also how to attach it to spray nozzles, sprinklers, pressure washers and coiled hoses.
There are also some other regional variants in naming these fittings:
I ended up putting all three hoses on timers so they go on one after the other. It pretty much supports Rory Alsop’s advice, but it was too long to fit in a comment: The soaker hoses I bought recommended a maximum of ‘ in series using two 75′ hoses. I tried connecting a 75′ and a 50’ hose for each row I had planted. My plan was to double back at the end of each bed.
Each hose had a flow regulating washer that needed to be removed for connections between soaker hoses.
